Lynne Frederickson is a versatile vocalist with a rich musical background spanning musical theatre, choral singing, big-band jazz, and folk music. A passionate interpreter of jazz standards, she brings fresh perspectives to the timeless melodies of the Great American Songbook, infusing each performance with storytelling and warmth.
Lynne’s love for jazz is evident in her eclectic repertoire, which blends both well-loved and lesser-known gems from the swing era and beyond. She draws inspiration from iconic composers such as Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer, Kurt Weill, Harold Arlen, Peggy Lee, Burt Bacharach, and even Fred Rogers. Among her many vocal influences, she counts Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Billie Holiday, as well as Mel Tormé, Shirley Horn, Dinah Washington, Blossom Dearie, Lorez Alexandria, Jane Monheit, and Samara Joy.
Very active in the Ann Arbor music scene, Lynne has collaborated with numerous local musicians across a wide variety of settings, from intimate venues like North Star Lounge and Silvio’s to larger stages such as The Ark and the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair. In addition to leading her own jazz trio, she is a featured vocalist with the genre-bending Dorkestra, one-half of the Americana duo Root Cause Analysis, and a backup singer with the Ralph McKee Blues Band.
Reservations strongly suggested.
